Feeling a recessionary pinch, the world is heading for the Golden Arches.
McDonald’s (MCD) this morning said global comparable store sales were up 4.3% in July, with sales up 2.6% in the U.S., 7.2% in Europe and 2.1% in Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
System-wide sales were actually down 0.3%, but up 6.2% in adjusted for currency.
The burger chain said the rise in U.S. sales in part reflected the roll out of the company’s McCafe line of coffee drinks.
MCD today is up $1.23, or 2.2%, to $56.43.
