Ford (F) CEO Alan Mulally is expected to retire within the next two years, and the automaker is on the hunt for his replacement, an article in the Wall Street Journal today says. The company is reportedly considering at least two internal candidates and two former Ford employees.
Among the named candidates are Ford Americas President Mark Fields, and Joe Hinrichs, who heads the company’s Asian operations. Also being considered are Hyundai North American President John Krafcik and and Novelis CEO Phil Martens. Novelis makes aluminum products. Both previously worked at Ford.
A Ford spokesperson told the Journal that they are not conducting a search. Mulally is credited with helping put the company back on its feet without needing federal bailouts.
