Hell Freezes Over! Ask, YHOO Gain Share From GOOG, Bing

So, uh, those are some weird looking market share numbers for the U.S. search industry that were released today by Experian Hitwise.

According to Hitwise, here’s what happened in March:

  • Ask.com (IACI)saw its share jump to 3.44%, from 2.84% in February.
  • Yahoo (YHOO) improved to 15.04%, from 14.57%.
  • Google (GOOG) fell to 69.97%, from 70.95%.
  • Bing (MSFT) fell to 9.62%, from 9.70%.

Note that the search market shares numbers Street pays the most attention to come from ComScore, which should issue March numbers within a few days.
